The
curriculum is everything that we do in school. The governors, with
the teaching staff, have undertaken that the curriculum provided
in the school shall adhere to the National Curriculum.
The core
subjects of the National Curriculum are English, Mathematics, Science,
IT and RE. Our pupils spend the majority of their time studying
these subjects. Considerable emphasis is placed on the importance
of literacy and numeracy. The National Strategies in both literacy
and numeracy are closely followed. National, QCA, guidelines are
used to provide the basis of our work in Science and IT. |

The
QCA guidelines are used for the teaching of the foundation subjects of
History, Geography, Music, Art, Physical Education and Technology. The
foundation subjects provide a breadth to our curriculum which we feel
is essential if each child is to have the opportunity to play a full and
active part in the wider community in later life.
The locally
agreed syllabus is followed for the teaching of RE. Personal, Social and
Health Education and Citizenship is covered by using national guidelines.
