SATs results

We were very pleased with our KS2 SATs results. Please look at the Key Stage 1 (Teacher Assessment) results and Key Stage 2 results for SATs taken in May 2008.

Holidays during term time

Parents are entitled to take their children out of school for up to 10 days for family holidays in any school year. However we would ask that parents think carefully about taking any child out of school during term time. We especially ask that parents with children in Years 2 & 6 avoid taking their children out of school between the end of February and the end of May because of their children's involvement with SATs. When deciding whether to allow term-time leave consideration is given to the child's age, the time and duration of the leave, the child's record of attendance, the child's ability and previous term-time leave. Parents wishing to take their child out of school in term time should complete a "Request for Permission for Absence from School" form - available from the school office, or to download above.

Medicines in school

Medication should only be brought into school when absolutely essential. The school will not give your child medicine unless you complete and sign the "Request for School to Administer Medication" form. Copies of this form are available in school, or you could download a copy to print off at home. Medicines must be delivered personally to a member of staff.

For your information, a copy of the "Medicines in School Policy" is available.

School dinner menus

The school meal is a traditional and important part of the school day and continues to be excellent value for money at just £1.75. All our food is cooked on the premises and we serve fresh fruit and salads daily, use fresh meat and sausages (no turkey twizzlers or mechanically recovered meat), and all potatoes (eg roast, chipped etc) are oven baked, not fried. All our tinned products such as baked beans are low in salt and sugar and we use named brand foods.
Children eating their school dinner

Please view a copy of the 2009/10 menu, which shows what is available to help you discuss and plan your child's lunchtime choices.

Further information on school meals is provided by Kirklees Catering Service on its website: www.myschoollunch.co.uk/kirklees.

School uniform

School fleece
School polo shirt available from school for £7
School sweatshirt available from school for £8

Our uniform comprises royal blue sweatshirts, yellow or white polo shirts and royal blue fleeces, with dark coloured trousers for the boys and dark skirts, tunics or trousers for girls. Sweatshirts and yellow polo shirts embroidered with the school logo are available for sale from the school office - £8 for sweatshirts and £7 for polo shirts. Fleeces are not kept in stock - these are ordered usually twice a year. In summer boys can wear shorts and girls dresses which incorporate the school colours of blue, yellow and white.

For PE the children need a T-shirt and shorts or leotard in a named bag. It is useful to have a pair of pumps or other indoor shoes to wear inside school in place of outdoor shoes or wellingtons.

Dangling earrings or other jewellery must not be worn.
